A Chamber Vespers
Music by Monteverdi and Contemporaries
With the 400th anniversary of Monteverdi’s famous Vespro della beate Vergine in mind, Jamie Savan has put together a varied collection of Psalm and Motet settings for the Office of Vespers, composed by various contemporaries of Monteverdi, including Cozzolani, Banchieri, Piccinini, Finetti, Petrobelli and Cazzati.
