Il nostro Semideo – the legend of Orpheus in song

Composers throughout the ages have been inspired and intrigued by the Legend of Orpheus. His journey to the underworld and back and his ability to use the power of music to achieve the unachievable has been a timeless theme. To celebrate the 400th anniversary of Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo (1607) this concert features musical settings of the Orpheus legend from 17th- and early 18th-century Italy.
