Songs of An Unknown Lover
Medieval Songs by Solage and Machaut
This programme combines love songs by two leading French 14th century composers, Machaut and Solage. Whilst Machaut (c.1300–1377) is one of the best documented composers of the Middle Ages – his works are preserved in 32 magnificently illustrated manuscripts – total mystery surrounds the life of Solage.
